Sedation Dentistry in Bolingbrook

Does the thought of a dental clinic cause extreme anxiety? If you suffer from any level of dental fear, Dr. Raina can help. Our dental team is experienced in some of the most effective forms of sedation dentistry, and we’re committed to helping you relax while your dental needs are addressed. Whether you’re coming to Raina Dental Care for routine oral maintenance, a root canal or oral surgery extractions, Dr. Raina will help you select the form of sedation that best fits your needs.

Oral Sedation Dentistry in Bolingbrook

Oral sedation dentistry requires you to take a pill like Halcion about an hour before your appointment at our dentist in Bolingbook. The medication is likely to make you drowsy, but most people are able to remain awake throughout the procedure. The goal is to ease your anxiety so that your routine exam or dental procedure is more enjoyable.

This is the preferred form of sedation dentistry for anyone who gets tense or nervous when it’s time for routine dental care. This light form of sedation dentistry may also fit your needs if you’re coming in for a procedure that involves mild pain.

IV Sedation for Comfortable Dental Care

This form of sedation dentistry requires the insertion of an IV into your vein. Dr. Raina can then administer a controlled dose of medication that reaches your bloodstream quickly. You will feel the sedative effect much faster than you would with any type of oral sedation, and our dental team will have the ability to adjust your dosage throughout the procedure.

This form of sedation dentistry is suitable for procedures that involve at least moderate pain. The goal is to keep you comfortable while Dr. Raina completes dental procedures designed to improve or restore your dental health.

Nitrous Oxide for Pain-Free Dental Treatment

Also known as “laughing gas,” this is a light form of sedation dentistry that is administered in our office through a mask. You will breathe in a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen that quickly relaxes your mind and body so that you aren’t as nervous or tense. Our well-trained, experienced dental team will control your dosage of nitrous oxide until your procedure is complete, and then we will remove the mask. Nitrous oxide typically wears off quickly.

If you get nervous just thinking about your upcoming dental appointment, contact us to discuss your sedation options. Our goal is to keep every patient as comfortable as possible because dental care should never cause fear or panic. We go out of our way to ensure that you want to come see us again.
